This bill amends the grandparent visitation rights in Minnesota Statutes. It removes the requirement that the visitation rights must not interfere with the parent-child relationship in order to be granted. The bill also modifies the provisions for granting visitation rights when a parent is deceased or when the child has an established relationship with a grandparent or great-grandparent. Additionally, the bill repeals a subdivision that required the court to determine by a preponderance of the evidence that the visitation would interfere with the parent-child relationship before denying visitation rights.
