This bill prohibits the use of "pattern bargaining" or internal equity data when the Commissioner of Management and Budget negotiates collective bargaining agreements for the salaries of certain law enforcement officers, including Minnesota State Patrol troopers, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agents, and others. Instead, the Commissioner must base compensation on the most recent salary and benefits survey conducted for these positions. The bill is effective immediately and expires on January 1, 2032, applying to contracts entered into during this time period.
