This bill authorizes the town of Westford to grant one additional license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages not to be consumed on the premises. The license will be granted to Feng you, Incorporated d/b/a Empire Wine & Spirits located at 175 Littleton Road in Westford. The license is subject to all the provisions of Chapter 138 of the General Laws, except for the limit on the number of licenses under Section 17. The licensing authority cannot approve the transfer of the license to a different location, but may grant it to a new applicant at the same location if the applicant is in good standing with the Department of Revenue and the Department of Unemployment Assistance. If the license is terminated, not renewed, or no longer in use, it must be returned to the licensing authority, which may then grant it to a new applicant at the same location within 3 years. The license must be issued within 1 year of the effective date of the act.
