AI Summary
This bill amends the South Carolina Code of Laws to require individuals convicted of reckless vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or with a prior conviction for driving under the influence, to pay restitution in the form of child maintenance to the minor children of their victims until the children reach 18 years old and graduate from high school. It also adds a similar requirement for individuals convicted of operating a moving water device under the influence of alcohol or drugs when death results. The court will determine the appropriate amount of child maintenance based on various factors, and the payments will be made through the clerk of court to the surviving parent or guardian.
