This bill establishes maternal mental and behavioral health care workforce grants. It allows the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants to entities to establish or expand programs to grow and diversify the maternal mental and behavioral health care workforce. The grants can be used to set up or expand schools and programs that provide education and training to individuals seeking licensing or certification as mental or behavioral health care providers who will specialize in maternal mental health conditions or substance use disorders. The bill prioritizes entities that recruit and retain students and faculty from medically underserved populations or maternal health care deserts, have strategies to recruit and retain a diverse pool of students, and include anti-bias and anti-racism training in their curriculum. The grants are for up to 5 years, and recipients must submit annual reports on the program's activities and outcomes.
