This bill permits the use of the title Attorney General for a person who served as the Acting Attorney General for 180 days. Under the bill, after termination of service as Acting Attorney General, the official title of a person who served as Acting Attorney General for a continuous period of at least 180 days is to be for all historical purposes "Attorney General of the State of New Jersey." The bill provides that a discontinuance of service as Acting Attorney General due to travel outside of the State or inability to discharge the duties of the office because of illness will not render a period of service non-continuous.
