This bill establishes a program to provide a safe haven at fire stations throughout New Jersey for victims of sex trafficking and domestic violence. The program will include training for firefighters on emergency housing, victim advocacy, legal assistance, and community resources available to these victims. The bill also requires the establishment of victim evaluation criteria, anti-discrimination measures, and additional training for firefighters to serve as referral sources and facilitate access to appropriate resources and services. The bill appropriates $1,000,000 from the General Fund to the Human Trafficking Survivor's Assistance Fund to implement the requirements of the act.
