This bill amends the administrative code of the city of New York to grant members of the city's police force eligibility for retirement and pension based on their previous service as traffic enforcement agents. Specifically, the bill allows the time served as a traffic enforcement agent to be counted as service in the police force for determining retirement and pension benefits, provided the individual pays into the police pension fund the total sum they would have been required to pay had they been a member of the force from the time they entered the service of traffic enforcement. Additionally, the bill allows police department members to buy back and receive service credit for the period they were previously employed as a New York City traffic enforcement agent.
