This bill amends the Workers' Compensation Law to include paid family leave for employees to recover after a stillbirth. The bill adds "to recover after a stillbirth" as a new provision under the definition of "family leave," which currently covers leave to care for a family member with a serious health condition, bond with a new child, or address a qualifying exigency related to a family member's active military duty. The bill will take effect on the first of January following the first of September next succeeding the date it becomes law and will apply to all relevant policies or contracts issued, renewed, modified, altered, or amended on or after that date.
