Bill Summary
Relative to vaccines and preventing future disease outbreaks
AI Summary
This bill amends Section 15 of Chapter 76 of the General Laws in Massachusetts. It requires all public, private, and charter schools that provide education from kindergarten to grade 12 to annually report the total number of children who are successfully immunized and those who are exempt from immunization requirements to the Department of Education. The Department is then required to publish the aggregate immunization and exemption data for each school and school district, subject to privacy laws. The Department may also publish the data by municipality, county, or other geographic designation as it deems appropriate. The intent of the bill is to increase transparency around vaccination rates and vaccine exemptions in order to help prevent future disease outbreaks.
