This bill amends the Fire Prevention Code to modify the requirements for school safety drills. The key provisions include: - Reducing the minimum number of required fire drills from 8 to 7 per school year, with at least 4 drills required for schools with grades K-12. - Increasing the minimum number of drills where students are restricted to the interior of the building and the building is secured from 3 to 4 per school year, with at least 1 of these drills conducted during a lunch or recess period. - Requiring schools to post documentation of completed drills on their website within 30 school days of the drill, to be maintained for at least 3 years. - Requiring schools to provide a list of scheduled drill days to the county emergency management coordinator, who will share the information with local emergency responders. - Allowing schools to reschedule a missed drill due to factors outside their control, as long as the minimum number of drills is still conducted. The bill also requires schools with grades 9-12 to have a training plan for automated external defibrillators and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
