This bill establishes an automatic application program for state high school students into the State University of New York (SUNY) and the City University of New York (CUNY). The Department of Education will create and maintain a centralized database to provide an online account for each student in their senior year, preload their demographic and academic information, and allow them to apply to SUNY and CUNY through this account. Students can decline to participate and retain sole discretion over whether to submit an application. Accepted students will be admitted, and the Department will publish annual reports on the program's effectiveness, including data on accepted students' demographics. The Department is also required to create a program to inform high schools and the public about the automatic application program.
