This bill proposes to add Ireland to the E-3 nonimmigrant visa program. The E-3 visa is a type of specialty occupation visa that is currently available to Australian nationals. This bill would allow Irish nationals to also apply for and receive E-3 visas on a basis of reciprocity, as determined by the Secretary of State. The bill also requires employers of Irish E-3 visa holders to be participants in good standing in the E-Verify program, which is an electronic employment eligibility verification system. Additionally, the bill sets a separate annual numerical cap of 10,500 for E-3 visas issued to Irish nationals, with any unused visas from the prior fiscal year being made available the following year.
