This bill, titled the "Army FUTURES Act of 2022" or the "Army Facilitating Untapped Technology, Utilities, Resources, and Equipment for Servicemembers Act of 2022," requires the Secretary of the Army to submit a plan that comprehensively defines the roles and responsibilities of officials and organizations within the Army with respect to the Army's force modernization efforts. The plan must identify the official who has primary responsibility for these efforts, clarify the roles of the Army Futures Command and the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, and address the roles and authorities of officials and organizations involved in acquisition support. If the Secretary of the Army fails to submit the plan within 180 days, the Commanding General of the Army Futures Command will have the roles, responsibilities, and authorities previously assigned to that position, and any subsequent directives that modify or contravene those authorities will have no force or effect.
