This bill creates alternate voting members on county agriculture development boards. Under the bill, each county agriculture development board will consist of seven voting members and two alternate members. Four of the voting members and one alternate member must be actively engaged in farming, while three of the voting members and one alternate member must represent the general public. The alternate members may participate in discussions but can only vote in the absence or disqualification of a voting member. The bill also establishes the terms of the voting and alternate members and allows the board of chosen freeholders, county executive, or county supervisor to appoint other advisory members as they deem appropriate.
