This bill establishes a program under which the Secretary of Agriculture will provide grants to states to address contamination by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on farms. States are eligible for grants if they have agricultural land or water used for farm products that exceeds certain PFAS levels. Grant funds can be used for various purposes, including monitoring health, providing medical care, relocating contaminated land or farms, compensating for contaminated products, investing in equipment and infrastructure, conducting research, and developing educational programs. The bill also requires grant recipients to submit annual reports on the use of funds and additional needs identified by agricultural producers. Additionally, the bill directs the Secretary to establish a task force to provide advice on addressing PFAS contamination and offer technical assistance to states.
