This bill modifies provisions relating to professions requiring licensure. Specifically, it: - Allows the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts to waive examination, educational, or experience requirements for physician and surgeon license applicants who hold a valid license in another state and have been licensed for at least one year. It provides expedited licensing for nonresident and resident military spouses. - Allows the State Committee for Social Workers to waive examination, educational, or experience requirements for clinical social worker, master social worker, and baccalaureate social worker license applicants who hold a valid license in another state and have been licensed for at least one year. It provides expedited licensing for nonresident and resident military spouses. - Establishes the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, which creates an expedited pathway for physicians to become licensed in multiple states to enhance portability of medical licenses and ensure patient safety. - Establishes the Social Work Licensure Compact, which facilitates interstate practice of regulated social workers by improving public access to competent social work services while preserving state regulatory authority.
