AI Summary

This bill extends and expands the existing tax incentives for employers who hire veterans, spouses of veterans, and spouses of active-duty military members. Specifically, it increases the value of the tax credit from 20% of wages and benefits up to $1,500 per qualified employee to 20% of wages and benefits up to $3,000 per qualified employee for hires on or after July 1, 2023. It also extends the expiration date of the tax credit from June 30, 2023 to June 30, 2034 and increases the annual statewide cap from $500,000 to $5,000,000. Additionally, the bill removes the requirement that the veteran be unemployed for at least 30 days prior to hiring to be eligible for the credit, and expands eligibility to include spouses of veterans and active-duty military members.
