This bill requires the Milton Marks "Little Hoover" Commission on California State Government Organization and Economy to study the causes and effects of the rising cost of living in California and develop solutions to make the state more affordable. The commission will meet quarterly from July 2024 to July 2026 and submit two reports to the Legislature detailing its findings and recommendations by August 2025. The bill aims to address issues such as housing affordability, inflation, economic recession, food insecurity, transportation costs, and stagnant wages, with a particular focus on historically marginalized populations. The provisions of this bill will be repealed on January 1, 2027.
