This bill requires the California Public Utilities Commission to determine the criteria for timely electric service through customer energization, including categories of timely service and reporting requirements for electrical corporations. The bill also requires electrical corporations that did not energize at least 35% of customers with applications over 12 months old by January 2023 to submit a report demonstrating they have energized 80% of those applications by December 2024. To improve demand forecasting, the bill requires electrical corporations to evaluate and update their distribution planning processes and hold annual meetings with local government representatives. Finally, the bill authorizes the Commission to collect certain information from electrical corporations annually to inform its determination of timely service criteria.
