The bill strikes the existing subheading 2208.30 and inserts a new subheading 2208.30.00, which covers all whiskies with a duty-free rate and a specific tariff of $2.04 per proof liter. The bill also instructs the United States International Trade Commission to add statistical suffixes to the new subheading to differentiate between types of whiskey, such as Irish/Scotch, Bourbon, Rye, and others, based on container size. The amendments made by this bill will apply to articles entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption 15 days after the date of enactment.
