This bill, the Find It Early Act, would provide coverage with no cost-sharing for additional breast screenings for certain individuals at greater risk for breast cancer. Specifically, it would require group health plans, individual and group health insurance coverage, Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, and the Department of Veterans Affairs to cover, without any cost-sharing, screening and diagnostic imaging for the detection of breast cancer (including mammograms, ultrasounds, MRIs, and other technologies) for individuals who are at increased risk of breast cancer or have dense breast tissue, as well as for individuals who are determined by a healthcare provider to require such screening based on factors like age, race, ethnicity, or personal/family medical history.
