This bill, the Fort Omaha Land Exchange Act of 2022, authorizes the Secretary of the Navy to convey the Marine Reserve Training Center in Omaha, Nebraska, to the Metropolitan Community College Area, a political subdivision of the state of Nebraska. In exchange, the college will convey real property interests adjacent or proximate to Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, to the Secretary of the Navy. The value of the property interests exchanged will be determined by an independent appraiser, and any difference in value may be equalized through a cash payment from the college to the Navy or in-kind consideration provided by the college. The college will be responsible for paying all costs associated with the land exchange, and the Secretary of the Navy is exempt from the screening process required under existing law for additional federal use of the property.
