This bill amends the existing law to expand Medicaid coverage for pregnant women in Utah. Specifically, it requires the Division of Medicaid and Health Financing to request a Medicaid state plan amendment to provide coverage for pregnant women with a household income up to 185% of the federal poverty level, and to request a Medicaid waiver to provide coverage for pregnant women with a household income up to 200% of the federal poverty level. If the amendments or waiver are approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the department must implement the expanded coverage as soon as practicable, and may only pay the state portion of the costs using appropriations from the Medicaid Expansion Fund.
