This bill amends the Multiple Dwelling Law and the Administrative Code of the City of New York to require online platforms that offer advertisements for accommodations in New York dwellings for periods of fewer than 30 consecutive days to submit certain information about the dwelling and the host to the designated enforcement agency before the advertisement is listed. The information includes the physical address, the host's full legal name and contact information, the dwelling's classification (e.g., private dwelling, class A or class B multiple dwelling), whether it is covered by a rent control or affordable housing program, whether the entire dwelling or just a portion is being advertised, and whether the dwelling is the host's primary residence. The bill also establishes civil penalties for violations and specifies that the Mayor's Office of Special Enforcement will enforce these provisions in cities with a population of one million or more.
