AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to enacting "Jacobe's law"

This bill, known as "Jacobe's Law," amends the education law in New York to require school employees to investigate and verify incidents of harassment, bullying, or discrimination against students. Upon verifying such an incident, the school must make a reasonable effort to contact the parents or guardians of the students involved to discuss the incident and ways to address the situation. The bill also provides immunity from civil liability for school employees who, acting reasonably and in good faith, report or assist in proceedings related to such incidents.
