This bill amends the Correction Law to grant the Correctional Association of New York the authority to access and visit all state correctional facilities at any time, without advance notice, and to have access to certain records and information of the correctional facilities. The bill also requires the Department of Corrections to provide the Correctional Association with various types of data and information on a quarterly basis, and allows the Correctional Association to send confidential surveys and questionnaires to incarcerated individuals and employees, as well as receive confidential phone calls and emails from incarcerated individuals.
