AI Summary

This bill establishes the EV Energy Equity Road Repair Tax (EVEERRT) Act, which imposes a $0.03 per kilowatt-hour tax on electricity distributed at public charging stations for electric vehicles. The purpose of this tax is to generate revenue for road construction and repair, similar to the motor fuel tax on gasoline-powered vehicles. The bill requires the owners of public charging stations to collect and remit the tax to the state's Department of Revenue, and provides penalties for non-compliance. The revenue generated from this tax will be deposited into the state's highway fund.
