AN ACT to amend the insurance law, in relation to prohibiting cost sharing for insulin

It provides that an insured person shall not be subject to a deductible, copayment, coinsurance, or any other cost-sharing requirement for the purchase of insulin. The bill amends sections of the New York insurance law to remove the existing cap of $100 per 30-day supply on the amount an insured person must pay out-of-pocket for covered prescription insulin drugs. The bill will take effect on January 1, 2025 and apply to policies or contracts issued, renewed, modified, altered, or amended on or after that date.
