This bill enacts the "Student Journalist Free Speech Act" to protect the free speech and freedom of the press rights of student journalists at public high schools. The exemptions include content that is libelous, an invasion of privacy, violates the law, or incites unlawful acts that would disrupt school operations. The bill also establishes that the school is not liable for the content produced by student journalists, except in cases of willful misconduct.
