AI Summary

This bill, known as the "Second Amendment Preservation Act", preempts local firearms ordinances and establishes that the Mississippi Legislature has exclusive authority over laws related to firearms, components, ammunition, and supplies. It prohibits counties, cities, and other political subdivisions from adopting their own firearms regulations, with limited exceptions. The bill also brings forward existing state laws related to carrying concealed weapons and deadly weapons. Additionally, the bill declares that federal laws or actions confiscating firearms from law-abiding citizens are invalid and unenforceable in Mississippi, and it creates a private cause of action for citizens affected by such federal enforcement efforts.
