This bill amends the Mississippi Architect Licensing Laws to allow for multi-disciplinary firms to include architects, landscape architects, and engineers, as long as at least one active member or stockholder of the firm holds a certificate to practice architecture in the state of Mississippi. The bill also brings forward a section that provides for the signage requirements of landscape architects. Additionally, the bill specifies that in any such multi-disciplinary firm, a minimum of two-thirds of the ownership must be held by registered architects or registered professional engineers, and no more than one-third may be held by registered landscape architects. The bill also outlines provisions regarding the execution of architectural service contracts and individual liability within these multi-disciplinary firms.
