This bill appropriates $300,000 from the general fund to the Board of Regents of the University of New Mexico to fund the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center's Cerebral Cavernous Angioma Initiative. This initiative provides outreach and genetic testing to Hispanic communities in New Mexico who are at a greater risk of developing cerebral cavernous angiomas, a rare vascular disorder that can lead to seizures, stroke, and other neurological problems. The funding is for the 2024 fiscal year, and any unspent or unencumbered balance will revert to the general fund at the end of that fiscal year.
