This bill enacts the Used Motor Vehicles Express Warranties Act, which requires used car dealers in Washington to provide express warranties on used vehicles based on their mileage and age. The warranties range from 90 days or 3,750 miles for vehicles with less than 40,000 miles to 30 days or 1,250 miles for vehicles with 80,000 to 125,000 miles. The bill also requires dealers to disclose any open, unremedied recalls and prohibits them from waiving, limiting, or disclaiming the rights set forth in the act, with exceptions for vehicles over 20 years old or not roadworthy. Violations of the act are considered unfair or deceptive practices under the state's Consumer Protection Act.
