This bill amends the Workplace Privacy Act in Nebraska to redefine the term "employer" and prohibit employers from taking certain actions. Specifically, it prohibits employers from requiring or requesting that employees or applicants provide login information for their personal internet accounts, log into their personal internet accounts in the presence of the employer, or add the employer to their personal internet account contacts. The bill also prohibits employers from requiring employees to wear electronic communication devices to track their location or travel patterns, except during a state of emergency for a pandemic and under specific conditions. Lastly, the bill prohibits employers from taking adverse action against employees or applicants for failing to provide the information or take the actions specified in the bill.
