Bill Summary
AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to allowing school districts to permit home-schooled students to participate in district interscholastic sports
AI Summary
This bill amends the education law to allow school districts to establish a policy that permits home-schooled students to try out for and participate on the district's interscholastic sports teams. The policy must require home-schooled students to meet the same academic, health, and behavior standards as public school students on the team, and they can only participate on the team in their district of residence. The bill also specifies that transportation for home-schooled students to participate in the sports team must be provided by their parent or guardian.
