This bill appropriates $5,750,000 from the General Fund to the Department of Health for fiscal year 2024. * $5,250,000 is allocated to fund and support county and tribal health councils statewide to carry out their functions as outlined in the County and Tribal Health Councils Act. * $500,000 is designated for the Department of Health to contract with a nonprofit organization. This funding will be used to provide training, technical assistance, and other support to county and tribal health councils, help develop a system to evaluate their effectiveness, and strengthen community-based health planning and self-determination. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2024 will revert to the General Fund.
