This bill appropriates $5.25 million to fund and support county and tribal health councils statewide to carry out the functions outlined in the County and Tribal Health Councils Act. It also provides $500,000 for the Department of Health to contract with a nonprofit organization to provide training, technical assistance, and other supports to the health councils, assist in developing an evaluation system, and strengthen community-based health planning and self-determination. Any unspent funds from the appropriation will revert to the general fund at the end of the 2024 fiscal year.
