This bill amends North Dakota's laws related to public assistance for pregnant women. Specifically, it removes the requirement that temporary assistance for needy families (TANF) be provided only to pregnant women in the third trimester, and instead provides assistance to all eligible pregnant women. It also expands Medicaid coverage for pregnant women with incomes below 175% of the federal poverty level, and extends coverage for the 12-month postpartum period. The bill also makes some other changes to the administration of the TANF program, such as allowing the use of an incentive allowance for up to 12 months of earned income.
