This bill amends the National Emergencies Act to provide that a national emergency declared by the President will terminate 30 days after the declaration, unless a joint resolution affirming the declaration is enacted into law. It also establishes procedures for the termination of national emergencies, including the termination of any related contracts, reprogrammed or transferred funds, and the cessation of emergency powers and authorities. The bill applies these new provisions to national emergencies declared before the date of enactment, which will terminate 2 years after the date of enactment unless renewed under the amended procedures.
