This bill amends the Environmental Conservation Law of New York to prohibit the use of toxic ammunition, including lead ammunition, in the taking of wildlife. Instead, the bill requires that wildlife be taken using only federally approved nontoxic ammunition. The bill is intended to address the environmental and health concerns associated with the use of toxic ammunition in hunting and other wildlife-related activities. The new provisions will take effect 30 days after the bill becomes law.
