This bill amends section 43-513 of the Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska to change the requirements related to the standard of need for the aid to dependent children program. The key provisions are: (1) establishing a new standard of need of $1,132.50 for a single individual, plus $393 for each additional individual in the aid to dependent children unit, effective July 1, 2024; (2) requiring annual adjustments to the standard of need based on the Consumer Price Index, starting in 2024; and (3) clarifying that the standard of need is used to both determine eligibility and calculate the benefit amount for the program.
