This bill amends the Public Housing Law to require the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to establish occupant protection plans for all public housing projects constructed during or prior to 1978, as well as any projects where lead paint is found. These plans must include notifying the Department of Health and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene of potential lead or mold exposure, providing tenants with information on free lead screening and prevention methods, and scheduling regular lead paint testing and removal. Additionally, the bill requires NYCHA to post and maintain signs at the affected projects with information on lead screening and prevention.
