Bill Summary

Establishing minimum student enrollment for school aid formula

AI Summary

This bill establishes a minimum student enrollment of 1,200 for the purposes of determining a county's basic foundation program funding, starting in the 2023-2024 school year. The bill also provides that any increase in net enrollment due to a county board sending students to a jointly established school in another county shall be added to the net enrollment after applying the 1,200 minimum. Additionally, the bill states that for the 2023-2024 school year only, a county will not be penalized for failing to meet the applicable minimum ratio of professional instructional personnel per state aid funded professional educators, if that failure is due to the increase in net enrollment to 1,200.
