This bill, the Retired Pay Restoration Act, aims to amend Title 10 of the United States Code to allow additional retired members of the Armed Forces with service-connected disabilities to receive both their disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs and their full retired pay for their years of military service or combat-related special compensation. The bill removes the requirement for disabled military retirees to forfeit a dollar of their earned retired pay for each dollar received in disability compensation, a practice that has existed for over 100 years until 1999. The bill also makes other technical changes to the concurrent receipt provisions in the law to reflect the conclusion of the phase-in period and clarify the definition of "qualified retiree" for the purposes of concurrent receipt.
