This bill, the Safer Streets Act of 2023, amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to establish a grant program for jurisdictions with high rates of violent crime. The bill also allows for emergency grants to jurisdictions that experience a 10% increase in violent crime over the previous year, and limits administrative costs for the grants to 10% of the total amount.
