This bill, the Protect Our Military Families' 2nd Amendment Rights Act, amends federal firearms laws to provide that a member of the Armed Forces and their spouse shall have the same rights regarding the receipt of firearms at the location of the member's duty station, even if that duty station is outside the United States. The bill also establishes that for the purposes of federal firearms laws, the residency of a military member's spouse is to be determined on the same basis as the residency of the military member, which includes the state where the member maintains legal residence, permanent duty station, and place of abode. The amendments made by this bill will take effect 6 months after the date of enactment.
