This bill amends existing state law to increase the insurance contribution requirements for school districts, charter schools, and participating entities in the Public School Insurance Authority. Specifically, it requires the state to cover 100% of the first $10,000 of insurance costs for all employees, and at least 60% of insurance costs above $10,000. The bill also allows school districts and other entities to offer supplemental benefit options, excluding medical, dental, or vision insurance, and requires the employer to pay 100% of basic life insurance premiums for employees.
