This bill proposes to increase payment rates for nonemergency medical transportation (NEMT) services in Minnesota. It amends the existing law in Section 256B.0625, subdivision 17 to raise the base rates and per-mile rates for various modes of NEMT, such as client reimbursement, volunteer transport, unassisted transport, assisted transport, lift-equipped/ramp transport, protected transport, and stretcher transport. The bill also provides higher reimbursement rates for NEMT services in rural and super-rural areas, as defined by the Rural Urban Commuting Area (RUCA) classification system. Additionally, the bill exempts all NEMT modes from a specific rule related to reimbursement rates.
