This bill requires certain Georgia state agencies to consider the definition of antisemitism provided in the bill when enforcing laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, or national origin. The definition of antisemitism used is the one adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) in 2016 and incorporated into a 2019 U.S. presidential executive order. The bill also provides that the definition of antisemitism should be considered in determining whether enhanced penalties for certain crimes are authorized. The bill includes provisions to ensure it does not infringe on First Amendment rights or conflict with other discrimination laws.
