This bill amends Section 552c of the Michigan Penal Code, which criminalizes the unauthorized entry into certain "key facilities" that are completely enclosed and posted with signage. It also specifically designates the Mackinac Bridge, Zilwaukee Bridge, Rouge River Bridge, and other major bridges and international crossings in Michigan as key facilities. The bill also clarifies that it is not a defense to a prosecution under this section if the key facility is left open during normal business hours. The penalty for violating this law remains a felony punishable by up to 4 years in prison or a $2,500 fine.
